Startpoint:
In 1998, this major financial services company opened a new office in the Midlands and set us a threefold challenge:

  • To provide a catering service for 70 employees with 48 hours notice;
  • To help design catering areas and facilities;
  • Crucially, to make the solution scaleable as employee levels would rise to 600 over next 18 months.

Our responsive, flexible approach saw all these challenges successfully met and a further brief followed as the company opened a new, purpose-built offices at another Midlands location.

Again we were set three key tasks:

  • To run a temporary catering facility in advance of the move;
  • To help design catering areas and specify/procure relevant equipment;
  • To recruit and train staff to cope with increasing client headcount.

Today:
Our service levels have grown in parallel with the client's growth and today we:

  • Manage catering at three sites, employing 60 full- and part-time staff;
  • Run three staff restaurants, a coffee shop and more than 40 vending machines, all of which operate 24 hours a day;
  • Cater for circa 2,000 people every day, serving in excess of 2,500 meals, in addition to delivering a separate service for meetings and conferences;

Ultimately, we have met every operational and financial objective the client has set over the past seven years and in the process formed a genuinely mutually-beneficial partnership.
